‘Received complaints of fines received on Red Cross coupons against COVID-19 implementation’
Srinagar, Jun 16 : Indian Red Cross Society Jammu and Kashmir in a letter has asked the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, that a distinction should be made while using the Indian Red Cross coupons.
In a letter addressed to Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, a copy of which lies with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) which reads that, “I have been receiving many complaints from various districts especially Srinagar that fines are being received on Red Cross coupons”.
General Secretary Indian Red Cross Society of Jammu and Kashmir, Kifayat H. Rizvi, said, that there has to be a distinguish between fine and donation, and people should be persuaded for adopting the Covid appropriate behavior and encouraged to pay for the donations for the noble causes of Indian Red Cross society.
“My humble request is that Instructions be issued to all who have been asked to use Red Cross coupons, that while implementing the SOPs, distinction has to be made between donation and fine. Indian Red Cross Society shouldn’t be associated with fine. I am afraid that if persuasion is substituted with force, it will harm the reputation of Indian Red Cross Society,” the letter reads.
The letter further states that, “I can understand that district administration makes its effort to enforce compliance of COVID-19 SOPs and those without masks are being fined.”
