Bhupinder Kumar Took Cognizance after a video of Specially Abled Students Goes Viral on Social Media wherein they were Complaining about the Lack of Basic Necessities
Baramulla, July 17: Taking cognizance of a video report that are making rounds on social media wherein two specially abled students could be seen complaining about the lack of proper avenues and facilities for such persons, Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Bhupinder Kumar said that every possible initiative shall be taken for the welfare of specially abled persons adding that administration is taking some novel measures in this regard. He said that district administration will explore every possibility so as to effectively implement all such schemes and programmes that are meant for their welfare.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner also directed District Social Welfare Officer Baramulla to visit Blind School at Khawjabagh which is managed by an NGO, Northern Federation of Blind Kashmir and to seek feedback and listen their issues and demands meant for the overall welfare of inmates.
Furthermore, the DC added that every type of possible assistance shall be provided to the Specially Abled Students who want to excel in their lives by means of different career avenues. He said that different career counseling sessions shall be conducted wherein they will be familiarised about different career/livelihood opportunities in which they can perform effectively. The DC also added that various agencies, which are meant for their welfare, shall be roped in so that target oriented results are achieved.
It is worthwhile to mention that School is run by an NGO in a private building & any repair and renovation of buildings is to carried by the house owner.
