Father of Five Dies During Timber Extraction in Bandipora

Bandipora, Oct 22: A 38-year-old man died in the Kudara area of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district while extracting forest timber on Tuesday.

Official sources confirmed the incident to Kashmir Despatch, stating that the man died on the spot while loading timber in the Chontimulla area of Bandipora. .

After completing legal formalities, the body will be handed over to his family for last rites.

Local laborers present at the scene reported that the worker slipped from a forestry vehicle during timber extraction in compartment 120 of the Kudara area.

The deceased has been identified as Shabir Ahmad Kalas, son of Khan Mohammad Kalas, a resident of Arin Dardpora in Bandipora district. He leaves behind a family of five members and was the sole breadwinner.

Family members have appealed to the district administration of Bandipora for compensation to support them in their time of need.
