Fayaz Ahmad Malik has been re-elected as the President of Sopore Fruit Mandi, the second-largest fruit market in Asia.
The elections took place recently, following the completion of the previous president’s tenure.
Earlier the Fruit Association Sopore issued a notification for new elections, attracting two candidates who filed their nomination papers.
Amid a festive atmosphere, the fruit orchardists participated in the elections with great enthusiasm.
The fruit Mandi was bustling with activity as queues formed early in the morning.
Amidst cheers, whistles, and celebrations, the elections were conducted peacefully. Fayaz Ahmad Malik, alias Kaka Ji secured the victory with an impressive margin of 100 votes, demonstrating his strong support among the fruit growers and members of the fruit Mandi.
