Finance department seeks details about key features, outcomes of annual budget for 2022-23

Srinagar, Oct 25 : After kick starting the exercise of preparation of annual budget for 2022-23, the administration of Jammu & Kashmir Union Territory has directed all the departments to submit details about its key features and outcomes.

The Finance department has written to the departments to submit information about key features of the annual budget for 2022-23. “The undersigned is directed to request all the administrative departments to furnish the information regarding achievements of the budget announcements for the current financial year and key features and outcomes for the budget 2022-23,” reads the letter written by Joint Director (Budget) to the departments.

As already reported, the Finance department has initiated the process of budget making for 2022-23 from the first week of this month. As part of the process, the department held discussions on budget proposals of revised estimates, 2021-22 & budget estimates, 2022-23 with all the departments.  This will be the third budget of J&K Union Territory to be presented in the Parliament as Jammu and Kashmir is currently without an elected government.

J&K is without its an elected regime since June 2018 after BJP withdrew support to Mehbooba Mufti-led government—(KNO)
