Srinagar, Jun 02 : The Food Safety Team of Srinagar, under the Directorate of Food Control (DFCO), conducted intensive inspections at multiple bakery shops across various areas of the city on Monday.
The operation covered Safakadal, Sakedafar, Nawakadal, Rajori Kadal, and Nowhatta.
During the inspections, several cakes and confectionery items were found to be past their expiry dates.
The Food Business Operators (FBOs) voluntarily disposed of the expired products on the spot.
The drive aims to ensure strict compliance with food safety regulations and maintain vigilance over the quality of food products manufactured and sold in retail outlets.

All Food Business Operators are instructed to strictly follow food safety norms and proper storage practices. Any violation of quality or storage guidelines will result in strict action under the Food Safety Act.
