SRINAGAR, July 22: A policeman on Wednesday evening was shot dead by suspected militants in the southern region of Kashmir.
Reports reaching Kashmir Despatch said a former Ikhwani (government gunman) turned policeman identified as Abdul Rashid Dar (58) son of Ghulam Hassan at Furrah area in Mir Bazar Kulgam was fired by suspected gunmen this evening at his home.
Dar was rushed to nearby hospital where on the way he succumbed to his injures.
Meanwhile police have sealed whole area to nab the attackers.
