Four gamblers arrested in Kulgam; stake money, playing cards seized

Kulgam — Jammu and Kashmir Police have arrested four gamblers and seized stake money and playing cards from their possession in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district.

On a specific information regarding gambling activities at Humshali bugh, a police party led by SHO police station Yaripora raided the spot. On seeing the police party gamblers tried to flee but were apprehended tactfully.

They have been identified as Haroon Rashid son of Abdul Rashid Malik, Liyaqat Hussain son of Mohd Hussain Malik, Saqib Ahmad Mochi Son of Reyaz Ahmad Mochi residents of Yaripora and Jehangir Ahmad Dar son of Mohd Ahsan Dar resident of Kujjar, Frisal. Stake money of ₹80000/- & playing cards were recovered from their possession.

In this connection, case under relevant sections of gambling Act stands registered at PS Yaripora and investigation has been initiated. — (KIMS)
