G A Mir concerned over sudden spike in Covid cases

Date:

Srinagar, Jan 15 : Sudden spike in Covid-19 cases was a matter of grave concern, apart from treatment of Covid Patients, the treatment of those requiring immediate surgeries and other medical consultations should not get affected, J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President Ghulam Ahmad Mir said on Saturday.

In a statement, Mir has said there was no doubt that the society was confronted with chaos and fear due to the sudden spike in Covid cases, besides the threat of Omicron variant of the diseases was also looming large, apart from taking measures to contain the rush in hospitals and other health centers in J&K, the treatment of other patients, who need immediate surgeries and other medical consultations must not get derailed ensuring that there was no inconveniences to be witnessed by the patients.

Indeed, the health officials and hospitals were over burdened, passing through a crucial phase, besides the administration was doing its best to contain the virus, at the sametime there was need to put in place an adequate mechanism to deal with other patients besides performing immediate surgeries in hospitals, Mir emphasized the JK administration.

I would appeal people to adhere to the Covid SOPs, wear masks, ensure social distancing as that will go a long way to contain third wave of Covid.
