Amitabh Kant, India’s G20 Sherpa, visited the Me & K Pashmina Centre today to gain a deeper understanding of the intricate processes involved in creating pashmina products.
The visit provided an opportunity to observe the meticulous techniques of pashmina spinning, weaving, and embroidery, which are essential to producing these luxurious textiles.
Kant engaged with the skilled artisans at Me & K, learning firsthand about their dedication and expertise in the craft.
His interaction with the artisans highlighted the traditional methods and the commitment to maintaining the high quality of pashmina.
He was accompanied by Mehmood Shah, the Director of Handicrafts, and Vikram Jeet Singh, the Commissioner Secretary. Their presence underscored the significance of promoting and preserving the rich heritage of pashmina craftsmanship.
