Pattan: NSS Units of Government Degree College, Pattan organised a Health cum counselling camp in Collaboration with BMO Pattan to commemorate World Health Day on Wednesday.
The students were checked by a team of specialists including a General Physician, an Ophthalmologist, a Dental surgeon and a team of counsellors.
The students were counselled in two separate sessions meant for boys and girls which focussed on taking care of physical as well as mental health.
The counsellors also focussed on current social issues of drug abuse and depression and raised awareness among students for protecting themselves and their friends and family from such menace.
The doctors checked around 100 students and free medicines were distributed among them.
On the occasion, Prof. (Dr.) Tasleema Bano encouraged the NSS Programme Officers of the College for organizing such camps and also stressed the importance of counselling especially in the present era.
The College Discipline Committee was also hailed for their cooperation in maintaining the overall discipline on the campus during beg the camp.
The NSS programme officers, Dr Asiya Nazir and Prof. Safeer Mukhtar thanked the BMO, and Pattan team for their efforts and for the successful completion of the camp.
The NSS Units appreciated the efforts of Mr Sajad for his technical support and also the local fund employees of the College for their assistance.
