GENERAL MANAGER REVIEWS PERFORMANCE OF NORTHERN RAILWAY

Sh. Shobhan Chaudhuri, General Manager Northern Railway held a review meeting with the departmental heads and DRMs of Northern Railway. Deliberations were held on keeping focus on mobility enhancement and other developmental infrastructure works and Freight loading.

The Northern Railway maintained good record of punctuality and continue to emphasis on punctual running of trains.

Sh. Shobhan Chaudhuri informed that, fencing alongside of railway tracks will be provided to prevent cattle runovers at vulnerable locations. He further said 139vulnerable locations have already been identified to provide fencing.Out of 139locations22 are such locations where such type of accidents tookplace in last 10 years. He instructed the divisions to expedite the works related with mobility enhancement and conducting drives to check the progress. He stressed upon the safety during ongoing monsoon season and all efforts should be done to curb any kind of obstruction during operation of trains.

Sh. Shobhan Chaudhuri, also said that, whenever necessary and required the concerned staff should be counsel and trained. He said the monitoring of rail fractures and rail welds should be done extensively and no error should be left.

He emphasized upon minimizing the human failure in train operation. He also instructed the department heads and DRMs, to maintain the punctuality and keep pace for freight loading with safety as priority. The General Manager also took the stock of progress of work related with raising of speed from 130 kmph to 160 kmph on New Delhi-Howrah and New Delhi-Mumbai route.
