Government Degree College Tral organises seminar  on “G20 and Sustainable Development”

Tral: The Department of Commerce Government Degree College Tral organised a seminar on “G20 and Sustainable Development” with an objective to celebrate the India’s presidency in G20.

The Seminar commenced with opening remarks by Dr Showket Ahmad Dar,  Head Department of  Commerce who deliberated on the history of G20. Moreover, he talked at length about how India can contribute to the global economy thereby contributing to the global development. 

Dr. Showket Ahmad also pinpointed how India’s G20 Presidency would a watershed in her history as it seeks to play an important role by finding pragmatic global solutions for the well-being of all. This was followed by an elaborate presentation on the theme by Dr Aamir Rashid Khan, Lecturer Commerce. 

He highlighted the importance of sustainability in the current times. He stressed that every initiative needs to be undertaken considering its possible impacts on the future. He highlighted how sustainability can go on to ensure a safe and secure future for the generations to come.

The presentation was followed by question and answer session moderated by Aadil Rehman, Assistant Professor Commerce, who also proposed the Vote of thanks. 

The technical support for the seminar was extended by Dr Mohd Sultan Bhat, Lecturer Commerce and Dr Irshad Ahmad Dar, Lecturer History. The seminar was attended by more than 70 students and faculty members.
