GVEI student secures 1st position at IMD State-Level Meteorology Olympiad

Srinagar, Jan 16: A student of the Green Valley Educational Institute (GVEI) Srinagar Mohammad Kamil Masoodi, level 8, has bagged the first position in Jammu & Kashmir at the State-Level Meteorology Olympiad.

The award ceremony was conducted by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) as part of its 150th Foundation Day celebrations.

As per the school handout, the Olympiad witnessed participants from across the Jammu and Kashmir who showcased their knowledge and skills in meteorology and climate sciences.

“Kamil’s outstanding performance not only highlighted his dedication and expertise but also brought pride to the school and the region,” the school handout reads.

Kamil attended the felicitation ceremony held at the IMD Headquarters New Delhi on January 13 of 2025.

“He was felicitated with a certificate from the organisers,” it reads.

Chairman GVEI, Mohammad Yousuf Wani congratulated the student and expressed his pride over the achievement of the student.

“It reflects his dedication and the excellence our institution strives for. This milestone not only brings honor to our school but also acts as an inspiration to other students to aim for greater heights. We wish Kamil continued success in all his future endeavors,” the handout reads.

He said that GVEI was committed to fostering academic excellence and encouraging students to participate in national and international platforms.
