Handwara: Stray Dogs Injure 4 Persons, Kill 2 Sheep in Hangah Mawer

Handwara, Dec 17 : At least four persons were injured after being attacked by a pack of stray dogs in Hangah Mawer in Handwara in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

Reports reaching GNS said that four persons identified as Hafeeza Begum, 27, wife of Ishfaq Ahmad Parray; Asma Shabir, 3, daughter of Shabir Ahmad Bhat; Farhat Ahmad Ganie,13, son Mohammad Ayub Ganie and Safeena Begum, 29, wife of Lateef Ahmad Rather all residents of Sadergund Hangah with dog bite injuries were evacuated to District Hospital Handwara for treatment.

The ferocious canines have also killed two sheep of Abdul Aziz Hajam.

A medical official at District Hospital Handwara told GNS that they have received four persons with dog bite injuries at the hospital. “They all are stable and responding well to the treatment”, the official said.

Meanwhile locals have urged authorities to intervene into the matter to avert any such incident in future. (GNS)
