High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh Recognizes Kashmir Advocates Association (KAA)

Srinagar, June 28, 2024: In a historic move, the Kashmir Advocates Association (KAA) has been officially recognized by the Hon’ble High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh while exercising powers of the Bar Council under Section 58 of the Advocates Act 1961.

This recognition marks a significant milestone, as KAA becomes the first and only Advocates Association/Bar Association to receive such acknowledgment from the Bar Council of J&K and the Hon’ble High Court of J&K&L.

The recognition of KAA is a testament to the dedication, hard work, and unwavering commitment of its members in upholding the principles of justice and advocating for the legal community in the region. This achievement underscores the vital role that the KAA plays in supporting and representing the interests of advocates across the Kashmir Valley.

KAA President Waseem Gul, Advocate, expressed the association’s gratitude to the Hon’ble Chief Justice of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, his companion judges, the Hon’ble High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, the Bar Council of Jammu & Kashmir, and all the members of the legal fraternity who have supported and encouraged the association throughout this journey.

“This recognition is a significant milestone for the KAA and the legal community in Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh,” said President Waseem Gul. “We are committed to working for the welfare of legal professionals practicing in different courts of the Union Territory, addressing their needs and concerns, and ensuring their well-being.”

The KAA looks forward to further strengthening its efforts in working for the betterment and welfare of advocates in the region, particularly in the Kashmir Valley.
