In past seven decades, people were kept away from development: Ashok Koul

Srinagar, Aug 10: Bharatiya Janata Party General Secretary (BJP) (organization) Ashok Koul on Tuesday said from the past seventy years people have been kept away from the development and stated despite militants threats people are joining BJP in large numbers.

Addressing party a mass joining program along with Former MLC Surinder Ambardar District President Baramulla Mir Mushtaq, Senior Leader MM War Kupwara Prabhari Anwar Khan & North Kashmir Incharge Mudasir Wani at Harinara Dasilpora Haritrath area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla in which many new faces joined the party, Koul said people of the area have been kept away from the development and schemes of the government.

He said the Prime Minister has launched Jal Jeevan Mission to provide safe and adequate drinking water through individual household tap connections by 2024 to all households in rural India.

“The program has been already launched in Jammu and Kashmir and in Baramulla district there 350 crore rupees will be spent on this scheme. The gaps of the past cannot be fulfilled by miracles and it will take some more time and patience,” he said.

Koul said people will the promise made the PM Modi will be delivered and each household will be provided safe and adequate drinking water. There will be dispensary, school and other facilities at doorsteps through various schemes,” he said.

While paying rich tributes to party workers who were killed last week, Koul said offered condolences to the bereaved family and stated that killings have pained the party.

Koul said despite militant threats, people are joining BJP and killing innocents cannot stop people. The sacrifices made by the party workers will not go in vain and they will be remembered for their brave acts, he said.

“They are targeting party workers and innocent civilians but they did not that every person is ready to give sacrifice for this country,” he said.

On the occasion, DDC Chairperson Hajra Begum Singapore, Gh Hussain Dar who was associated with Apni Party, Mohd Akbar Rather Sarpanj Zanabal B, Fayaz Ahmad Dar Sarpanj Bona Chakla, while Basharat Hussain Najar was nominated District General Secretary OBC BJP Baramulla.
