Poonch, April 10 — In an effort to ease recent tensions along the Line of Control (LoC), the Indian and Pakistani armies are scheduled to hold a flag meeting today in the Chakan Da Bagh area of Jammu’s Poonch sector.
The meeting comes in response to repeated requests from Pakistan and is expected to focus on border-related concerns as well as recent ceasefire violations.
Sources within the Indian Army have confirmed that the main agenda of the meeting will revolve around recent infiltration attempts by Pakistani troops.
These incidents include efforts to plant Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) and install surveillance cameras within Indian territory—actions that have been effectively thwarted by India’s vigilant anti-infiltration grid.
The Indian side is expected to raise strong objections to these aggressive acts, which pose a threat to peace along the LoC.
This flag meeting is viewed as a crucial step in maintaining the ceasefire understanding reached between the two countries in 2021, amid growing concerns over renewed hostilities. (With Agency Inputs )
