Srinagar : Inter district teachers, working in different districts of the valley, Friday appealed to the Lieutenant Governor administration to frame a transfer policy for them and shift them to their home districts.
Addressing a press conference here, inter-district teachers said although the government has started collecting transfer data, however their transfer be ensured on priority basis so that they could join their families after fourteen years.
“We were appointed as inter-district teachers through SSRB in the year 2007 and 2009; we work in different districts of the valley for the last fourteen years without any transfer policy. So we appeal to the Secretary School Education to consider our demand on priority,” they added.
They said the successive regimes including National Conference (NC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) despite assurances failed to mitigate their suffering in absence of any active transfer policy.
The inter-district teachers said the LG administration has started compiling transfer data and that they hope their request will be actively considered.
“We knocked doors of the CM’s of the erstwhile state including Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti besides other higher-ups of the administration; however they miserably failed t address the issue. Now since the LG administration is performing well, we hope our issues will also be looked into,” they said—(KNO)
