The Uplona Rashtriya Rifles Battalion under the aegis of Haiderbaeg sector kilo(k) force in collaboration with District administration Baramulla has celebrated women empowerment programme on international women’s day at the North Kashmir University, Delina.
Under the theme of ‘NAYI SOCH ‘ the topics of Women Empowerment, Gender Equality & Role of Women in Upliftment of Society in Kashmir was discussed. District collector of Baramulla Dr.Syed sehrish asgar ,IAS attended the program as a chief guest.
The session commenced with the welcome speech of
Mr.Nisar Ahmed wani District social welfare officer followed by discusion on role of women helpline in the women safely and empowerment, the contribution of women in the development of society and role of society in women empowerment.
The educational talk also focused on domestic violence, health and hygiene , provisions in law for women empowerment.Various social workers,members of NGOs ,professors from Kashmir university spoke about the women empowerment and social justice were involved in the programme. ‘Women Empowerment, Gender Equality, Women’s Economic Empowerment, Girls’ Education, Family Planning,domestic violence and Measures for Reducing Child Marriages and Role of Women in Upliftment of Society in Kashmir and many such topics were talked upon by many guest speakers and students,NCC cadets.
Captain Sandesh, Medical Officer from Army spoke about the opportunities for women in Indian Army and the modes of enrollment as an officer in Medical stream. The session threw light on the structure of trisevices and the channel of enrollment specially for women and the recent advances and benifits in joining Indian Army .
The presentation and educational talk was decorated by eminent professors like Dr.Ruby rehi,Principal GMC baramulla, Dr. Aamira ,HOD dept of social work,
Dr. Aliha, dept of management, mrs.Bushra beither administrator OSC NGO baramulla beside the subject experts.
Along with the educational events, cultural and musical programmes from students of North Kashmir University entertained the audience.
