Srinagar, June 21 : International Yoga Day was celebrated at Srinagar International Airport by 35 Bn CRPF on 21ST of June.
On this occasion officers, Sub Ordinate officers, & Jawans took part with great zeal & enthusiasm. Sh. Nikhil Rastogi , Commandant-35 Bn in his address said that International Yoga Day was first celebrated on June 21, 2015.
This ancient form of holistic healing was officially recognized by General Assembly of the United Nations on 11 Dec 2014 and also recognized June 21th as World Yoga Day.
He also informed that Yoga is an ancient physical, mental and spiritual practice that gives people peace, confidence and courage to do many activities more effectively.
Yoga means to connect or unite. It connects body & mind. It is performed through a diet, a breath and physical postures to relax the mind.
This Year`s theme of International Day of Yoga is “Yoga for Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” and the domestic tag line is “Har Angan Yoga”.
Yoga is an invaluable gift of ancient Indian tradition and embodies the unity of mind & body, thought & action, restraint and fulfillment.
He emphasized upon officers, SOs and Jawans to adopt Yoga in their daily life to achieve the following goals:
Peace of mind, confidence and stress free environment.
It connects people with nature and enhances harmony between man & nature, a holistic approach to health & well-being, sense of unity of the yourself, the world and enables you to survive in changed climatic conditions.
It strengthens the muscles and the whole body.
Maintains a balanced metabolism in humans.
He concluded with words that if they really want to get rid of stress caused on everybody due to unhealthy modern lifestyle, if they want to improve their immunity and if they want to have peace of Mind, they must do Yoga everyday.
