Islamic Fraternity Relocates Conference Venue Themed on Rising Suicides, Drug Abuse

Date:

Srinagar, Aug 25 : Islamic Fraternity – a Kashmir based religious organization, has relocated the venue of its proposed conference themed on rising suicides to Jamia Masjid Rangtaing in Kawadara Srinagar from previously selected venue at Aali Masjid, Srinagar.

President Islamic Fraternity, Muhammad Aamir Al-Kashmiri, in a statement issued to GNS said that the organization has been denied permission to hold the conference at Aali Masjid Srinagar after the mosque management informed them that the mosque has been taken over by Waqf Board. We even approached the Waqf Board authorities regarding the conduct of the program, however they (Waqf Board authorities) sidelined the request citing limitations on large gatherings. It has now been unanimously decided by Organisation members to hold the conference at Jamia Masjid, Rangtaing, Kawadara, Srinagar, he said.

Aamir said that the conference scheduled on September 5 is likely to see attendance from several top scholars from outside. We urge the people to participate in the conference while duly following the Covid Appropriate Behavior, he further said.
