As India will celebrate 76th years of Independence today, people across Jammu and Kashmir have involved themselves in – ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ with letter and spirit.
J&K administration planned a series of special events to mark the glorious occasion. India is all set to commemorate its 76th Independence Day today with celebrations around the theme – `Nation First, Always First.’
However, in Jammu and Kashmir, the occasion is also special because the authorities have been making zealous efforts to usher in a new era of development and harmony. People in general are also yearning for peace and prosperity and it is only after the abrogation of Article 370, strong efforts are being made by the government of India to attract investment and boost employment in the region in order to address peoples’ aspirations.
For ensuring this scenario after decades of terrorism in the region, the efforts put in by the army and BSF on the borders and paramilitary forces and police in the hinterland shall always be remembered by the entire nation till times to come.
The present Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha with zealous and untiring efforts also contributed immensely in turning the tide across Jammu and Kashmir. This is for the first time in the history of turmoil hit J&K that people especially the youth have in significant numbers participated in the celebrations of Har Ghar Tiranga campaign as part of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’. A significant change on the ground is that once known as a hotbed of terrorism—Sopore Town partcipated in these celebrations with an overwhelming participation of the people.
