Srinagar : Kashmir witnessed fresh snowfall on Friday as the minimum temperature rose several notches high, the MeT department said.
Moderate snowfall in plains and heavy precipitation in the higher reaches of the Valley has been going on since early hours, it said.
The weatherman said that the minimum temperature increased several degrees across all weather stations.
The MeT has forecast rain or snow at most places across the state over the next 48 hours.
Meanwhile reports reaching Kashmir Despatch said major disruptions were reported in power supply and on roads, besides air traffic is hit on consecutive 8th straight day on Friday.
Snow clearance machines have been pressed into service. However, the snow has not been cleared from most of the roads reports added.
While the snowfall has been moderate in the plains of Kashmir, the upper reaches have witnessed heavy snowfall an official said.
