LG Sinha Lauds Kupwara, Kulgam for PM’s Excellence Award

Srinagar, April 21 ; The Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence in Public Administration recognizes outstanding public service and administrative innovation in delivering development goals at the grassroots level. On the occasion of the 17th Civil Services Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi conferred this prestigious award upon two District Development Commissioners.
Kulgam district was one of the two districts in Kashmir to achieve this milestone for its exemplary and innovative work in public service delivery.
Sources told Kashmir Despatch that during the tenure of Dr. Bilal Mohiuddin Bhat, IAS, District Kulgam was nominated for the PM’s award for excellent work in the development category. However, the incumbent DC, Athar Amin Khan, received the award today from Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Official sources stated that during 2023, Dr. Bilal Mohiuddin Bhat, IAS, made exceptional contributions that changed the ground scenario in the district, achieving significant progress in terms of development.
Meanwhile, In a post on X former DC Kulgam now DC Srinagar Dr Bilal Mohiuddin Bhat said, I am happy to witness Team kulgam receiving PM award for excellence in Public administration for the year 2023. This recognition goes to people of Kulgam who chose to accept holistic development , officers & staff who chose to work sincerely for people and to incumbent DC Athar Aamir Khan who projected the work done from many years especially 2023 meticulously before the Award commitee. Public service is love for service towards public & all about dedicating one’s life to this noble cause. All this manifested in todays CSD Honourable Prime Minister’s speech with Viksit Bharat 2047 as central goal he said.

While Deputy Commissioner Ayushi Sudan of Kupwara has also been conferred the prestigious Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence in Public Administration by Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the occasion of the 17th Civil Services Day.
Ayushi Sudan was honored in the category of “Holistic Development of Districts” in recognition of her outstanding contributions to implementing transformative governance initiatives in the frontier district of Kupwara, Jammu & Kashmir, for 2024.
Her dedicated efforts in promoting inclusive development, enhancing citizen-centric services, improving education, and strengthening grassroots democracy have significantly enhanced the quality of life in the district, particularly in remote and far-flung areas.
Meanwhile, locals and public representatives of district Kupwara have congratulated Ayushi Sudan for her remarkable leadership in making Kupwara a standout district.
According to details available with Kashmir Despatch, Principal Secretary Shailendra Kumar, MD HADP Rahul Yadav, now DC Srinagar Bilal Bhat, DC Kulgam Athar Amin Khan, and DC Kupwara Ayushi Sudan were all listed for this prestigious award.
Meanwhile, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha took to social media platform X on Monday to extend his congratulations. He wrote, “Congratulations to Ms. Ayushi Sudan @dckupwara on receiving the prestigious Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence in Public Administration under the category Holistic Development of Districts. Your dedication & hard work is truly commendable and serve as an inspiration to others.”
In another post on X, LG Sinha said Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, @AtharAamirKhan, has also been awarded the prestigious Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence in Public Administration under the category of Holistic Development of Districts. Heartfelt congratulations on this well-deserved recognition.
