KU’s North Campus Hosts HARUD BUSINESS FEST 2024

Baramulla,Oct 28 : The Department of Management Studies at the North Campus of the University of Kashmir organized a one-day Business Fest, titled “Colour Me Autumn: Harud 2024,” on October 28. This annual festival serves as a platform to showcase student talent and entrepreneurial skills while celebrating the region’s rich cultural heritage.

The event was inaugurated by Prof. Sheikh Ghulam Mohammad, Director of the North Campus, who welcomed the participants and commended the organizing committee for their hard work in facilitating such an event. The Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of the University of Kashmir, Prof. Nilofer Khan, attended as the Chief Guest and encouraged students to continue developing their entrepreneurial skills while sharing her motivating words of wisdom.

The inaugural session was further graced by the presence of coordinators from various departments, faculty members, students from the North Campus, and representatives from neighboring colleges. Dr. Ambreen Khursheed Wani, the event coordinator, provided an introductory overview of the festival. The proceedings began with the recitation of the University Tarana, followed by a soulful performance of the traditional Kashmiri Rouf, setting an inspiring tone for a day filled with cultural performances and business-oriented activities.

The festival officially commenced with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, marking the launch of student-run stalls. These stalls, set up by aspiring entrepreneurs from the Department of Management Studies and young entrepreneurs from across the region, showcased a diverse array of products and services. The Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, accompanied by the Director of the North Campus and other guests, visited the stalls and engaged with the student entrepreneurs, offering valuable insights.

Students from the department displayed their talents by participating in various cultural programs. During the felicitation ceremony, students were awarded certificates and prizes for the best stalls and best cultural performances. Additionally, volunteers, organizers, and sponsors were recognized during the valedictory session.

Dr. Viqar U Nissa, Coordinator of the Department of Management Studies, delivered the concluding remarks, emphasizing the significance of such festivals in fostering entrepreneurial skills among students. The event wrapped up with a formal vote of thanks from Dr. Sumaira Gulzar, a faculty member of the department, bringing the vibrant and engaging festival to a successful close.
