Liver flue consumes hundreds on livestock in Langate villages

Srinagar, Feb 03 :  Residents of various villages in Langate area of Handwara in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on today said that hundreds of livestock has been killed in the area due liver flue disease which breakout in the area.

The resident of  Ganapora, Supernaghama, Kralgund, Beighpora, Palpora and adjoining villages said that hundreds of live stock died since the disease break out in the area.

They said that the concerned department seems nowhere to treat the livestock in the area and stop it further from spreading to other areas.

They also alleged despite informing the concerned officials about the disease in the area, no steps has been taken up by them to stop the disease from spreading.
They also said that there Animal Husbandry department in the area lacks medicines and infrastructure to cater to livestock.

Despite many calls and attempts to reach Deputy Director Animal Husbandry Kupwara, couldn’t be reached. (KNS).
