Magisterial enquiry ordered into death of 22-year-old in Ganderbal

‘Enquiry to determine circumstances surrounding the incident’

Srinagar, Dec 17: The administration has ordered a magisterial enquiry into the death of a 22-year-old youth that occurred during the pruning of a Chinar tree in the Patti Rampora area of Ganderbal district.

According to a copy of the order issued here, Mohammad Altaf Bhat (JKAS), Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR), has been appointed as the enquiry officer and will submit a detailed report within a week.

“In order to ascertain the facts and other circumstantial conditions leading to the death of a youth (Umaan Akbar Ganie S/o: Mohd Akbar Ganie R/o: Safapora) during the pruning of a Chinar tree at Village Tulmulla, Tehsil Tulmulla, on 17.12.2024, Mr. Mohammad Altaf Bhat (JKAS), Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR), is hereby appointed as Enquiry Officer, who shall submit a detailed enquiry report to this office within a week’s time positively,” the order reads.
