Army on Tuesday claimed to have killed an intruder in an ambush at Khour area of Akhnoor in Jammu region.
An army officer said that the militant was killed in the ambush laid by the troops after he tried to sneak in this side along the border at Khour area.
The body of the slain was recovered along with a weapon and other arms and ammunition, he said.
A police officer told GNS that as per the communication they received from the concerned army’s 15 Punjab regiment deployed at Khour near Nathu Kulian Post of Garrar area that a movement was observed and in the ensuing encounter one militant was killed.
“A case has been registered with regard to the incident and further investigations taken up,” the officer said.
