Minor boy drowns in Jehlum in Border town

Baramulla, Aug 5: A minor boy on Wednesday drowned in river Jehlum in Uri sector of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.


Reports reaching Kashmir Despatch said bathing in a river to beat the summer heat proved fatal for a 10-year-old boy in north Kashmir’s Uri.
People present there raised alarm and accordingly police were informed.


A police officer told Kashmir Despatch that a team rushed to the spot and has started a search for his body.
The officer identified the drowned boy as Mohammad Momeen son of Javaid Ahmad Chalkoo of Silikote.
