Katra, June 06: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday declared that freeing Jammu & Kashmir from terrorism was essential—and his government has accomplished it.
Addressing a public gathering in Katra after inaugurating the Vande Bharat train, PM Modi said, “It was crucial to liberate J&K from terror, and we have succeeded. Today, the youth are witnessing a prosperous region, and I will not allow anything to obstruct J&K’s progress.”
Reflecting on the development projects, he mentioned former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s recent statement, noting, *”I saw Omar Abdullah’s remarks that work on this project began when he was in school. We have now turned the people’s dream into reality.”
Highlighting national connectivity, PM Modi stated, “Today’s event is a grand celebration of India’s unity and resolve. With Mata Vaishnodevi’s blessings, Kashmir Valley has been linked to India’s rail network. We have always revered ‘Kashmir to Kanyakumari’ as a symbol of unity—now, this vision is a reality for railways as well.”
He also emphasized the people’s rejection of terrorism, saying, “The people of J&K have sent a strong message to Pakistan and terrorists. The youth here are determined to counter Pakistan’s nefarious designs.”
On employment and tourism, PM Modi said, *”We are generating new opportunities for our youth, with tourism as a key driver. Sadly, our neighbor opposes not just humanity but also tourism—targeting the livelihoods of the poor. The Pahalgam attack on April 22 was an assault on ‘Insaniyat’ and ‘Kashmiriyat,’ aimed at inciting unrest in India by targeting tourists.”
Taking a swipe at opposition parties, he added, “Those who indulge in caste-based politics must see who truly benefits from our schemes—our Dalit and Adivasi brothers and sisters.”
