In a stringent operation led by ARTO Kulgam, Sh Abrar Ahmed Kripak JKAS, the Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) in District Kulgam targeted traffic violators with a special focus on overspeeding and rash driving.
The enforcement team booked 54 motorists, predominantly two-wheeler riders, and seized vehicles while imposing penalties totaling approximately Rupees One lakh.
The crackdown extended beyond individual violations, addressing issues such as defective number plates and wrongful parking.
The MVD’s intensified efforts also encompassed school buses and other passenger vehicles. Notably, 14 drivers faced on-the-spot notices for license suspension, emphasizing the commitment to enforcing traffic rules.
This operation marks a part of the ongoing drive, signaling the MVD’s dedication to ensuring road safety in Kulgam. The Sarthi Portal reports a total of 75 driving licenses suspended in the current year, reflecting the department’s unwavering stance against traffic offenses.
