Srinagar: As the Prime Minster of India Narendra Modi files his nomination in Varanasi on Friday, he has said that BJP’s alliance with Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Jammu and Kashmir was its “mahamilavat”. He was quoted as saying to India Today.
He said that BJP made an alliance with PDP because Mufti Syed was in the party. But, added that the alliance was “like mixing oil and water. The PDP-BJP alliance was our mahamilavat. We only did it because that was the people’s mandate.”
Mr. Modi has once again lashes out at the two families – Mufti family and Abdullah family in a veiled reference to the “few families in Kashmir” and had targeted them for speaking different things in Kashmir and later another in New Delhi.
“There are a few families in Kashmir who speak one language in Kashmir and another in Delhi. These families are speaking two languages. We must expose this duality,” he said.
