Bandipora, March 20– A One-Day awareness Programme on the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan was held at Government Higer Secondary School Sumbal in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Thursday.
The event was organized by Department of Social Welfare, Bandipora in collaboration with District Administration Bandipora and was facilitated by DDAC Bandipora.
The programme was presided over by BMO Hajin Dr Idress Ahmad, he was accompanied by Tehsil Social Welfare Officer Sumbal Fayaz Ahmad Lone, medical Superintendent CHC Sumbal Dr Arshed & Socio-politcal Activist Qawam Ud Din Shilvati.
The session commenced with a presentation by DDAC Members who provided a comprehensive overview of the centre’s services, highlighting the free-of-cost facilities available for those battling drug addiction and elobrated on the medical aspects of de-addiction.
Fayaz Ahmad Tehsil Social Welfare Officer Sumbal emphasized the role of individuals and communities in combating drug addiction and fostering a drug-free society.
Adding further depth to the discussions.
Social activist,Qawam Ud Din Shilvati spoke on the crucial role of teachers and educational institutions in raising awareness and preventing drug abuse among students.
The awareness programme concluded with a pledge to intensify efforts to eradicate drug abuse in Bandipora, reinforcing the commitment of the administration and community stakeholders towards a Nasha Mukt Bharat.
