Police Solves Theft Case, Accused Arrested In Srinagar

Police today said in a statement that Police Station Karan Nagar received a complaint from CMO SMHS Hospital Srinagar informing that some unknown person/persons have stolen sanitary items from bathrooms of OPD, causality and wards.

Accordingly, a case FIR number 19/2019 under relevant sections of law was registered in Police Station KarnNagar and investigation was initiated immediately.

During the course of investigation officers intercepted one suspect person near the gate of SMHS identified as Towseef Rasool Bhat son of Gh Rasool Bhat resident of Khanqa Bagh Pampore who was carrying a bag. On his search, stolen property including bathroom sanitary items were recovered.

When the officers spoke to him they learnt about the involvement of his another associate namely Mohammad Saleem Mir son of Mehraj-ud-din Mir resident of Drangbal Pampore in the commission of crime. Efforts are on to trace him.

SMHS Hospital administration and general public have applauded this prompt action of Police.

Sumbal Rape Case: JK Youth Alliance demands punishment to rapist as per Islamic Law

Today members of JK youth Alliances JKYA marched towards Raj Bawan SRINAGAR to present memorandum demands Time bound Investigation and Exemplary punishment to Rapists of Bandipora Girl as per Islamic law .
The March was intercepted by JK police near Lalit hotel . The memorandum was later handed over to the Rajbawan officials.

The March was led by JKYA president and Kashmir university unit of JKYA .

Mirwaiz appeals unity and vigil against some elements who want to divide on sectarian basis

Video, photographs show mass copying 10th class examination in Reasi

Reasi, May 13 : Video and photographs have surfaced, showing mass copying by students of 10th class in Bi-annual Science paper which was held on May 11 in Mahore area of Reasi district of Jammu.

In the video, the youth in scattered groups are seen helping the examinees with the chits from outside the examination centre.

Locals of the area also approached the CEO with a written complaint against the staff including Superintendent and Deputy Superintendent for allowing mass copying in centre number 5903 of High School Jamaslan area of Mahore.

The locals alleged that the staff was allowing the mass copying in the exams every year against hefty bribes.

A video and pictures in possession with GNS shows the staff on exam duty supplying examination related material to nearly 30 candidates.

In the video it has also been witnessed that the students were given examination related material from windows and mostly providing the copying materials to girl candidates.

The locals alleged that these officials are every year coming for conduct of exams in Jamaslan High School to get bribes from innocent people.

The locals said that besides CEO they have also informed Board authority Mahore in this regard.

They said the Superintendent and Deputy Superintendent manage to get the same charge every year from last five years at High School Jamaslan.

The locals of the area urged Governor-led administration to look into it and take strict action against the staff involved in the mass copying practice.

When contacted Chief Education Officer (CEO) Reasi Nirmal K Choudhary told GNS that the issue has been brought into his notice and stern action against those involved in the incident will be taken.

“I have ordered an inquiry and who so ever involved in the incident would be dealt sternly as per law,” CEO said. (GNS)

SKUAST Sopore students hold protest against Bandipora minor’s rape

Sopore, May 13 : The students of Share e Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (SKUAST) at Wadoora Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Monday staged a peaceful protest inside the campus against the rape of a three-year-old girl in Sumbal area of Bandipora district in north Kashmir.

The protesting students were holding placards with the messages like ” Hang the rappist”,”RIP Humanity”,”Death Sentence for Rappist” and demanded stern action against the accused.

Pertinently, police have already arrested the accused, who is a resident of Malikpora Trigam Sumbal.

Meanwhile all shops and business establishments are closed in Sopore and its outskirts while as traffic movement was thin on roads as well.

Appeals for maintaining peace, brotherhood, Law & Order

SRINAGAR, MAY 13: In press release today The Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Baseer Ahmad Khan today appealed people to maintain peace, brotherhood and Law & Order.

He has assured that the Enquiry of Sumbal incident is being conducted on fast track basis and personally monitored by Divisional Commissioner himself to be concluded very soon.

He reiterated that justice will be done and the culprit will be given severe punishment as per law.
Anybody having grievances with regard to Sumbal incident, he or she can personally contact the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir immediately.

Srinagar, May 13 : A 23-year-old youth was injured critically as clashes and protests against rape of minor girl from Sumbal rocked several parts of Kashmir Valley.

Reports reaching GNS said that a peaceful protest march led by social activist and senior Advocate Syed Mujeeb u Rehman was held in Anantnag district of south Kashmir demanding justice for 3 year old rape survivor from Sumbal.

The protest was attended by scores of civil society members and advocates. They start protest march from court complex upto DC office in the southern district.

Reports of protests were received from Kupwara, Sopore, Pattan Chanabal, Mirgund, Hygam, Sumbal, Utter Kreeri, Baramulla.

Demanding stern action, the protesters mostly students from various schools, Higher Secondaries, colleges against the accused involved in the minor’s rape.

In wake of the law and order problem in several parts of the northern district, the authorities have suspended train services from Srinagar to Baramulla as a precautionary measure.

Meanwhile, all shops and business establishments are closed in Sopore and its outskirts while as traffic movement was thin on roads as well. (GNS)

Sumbal minor’s rape: Police summons school Principal over Issuance of DOB certificate

Srinagar, May 13 (GNS): Police on Monday summoned Principal of a private school for allegedly issuing a fake Date of Birth (DOB) certificate in favour of a youth accused in rape of 3-year-old Sumbal girl.

SSP Bandipora Rahul Malik told GNS that the fake DOB has been issued by the Ali Mohammad Thakur, Principal High School Islamia Educational Trust Trigam.

“Yes we have brought him for questioning with reagrd to the Issuance of DOB showing the accused as minor. We are inquiring the matter as to how it happened,” SSP said.

Police on Saturday said that it has constituted a Special Investigating Team (SIT) to probe alleged rape of minor girl in Sumbal area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.

SSP Bandipora Rahul Malik had said that that the SIT comprising SDPO Sumbal, SHO Sumbal and Sr.PO has been constituted to investigate the entire case.

“The age confirmation of accused will be determined on the basis of scientific medical test to be conducted by team of senior doctors,” SSP had said.

The incident, involving the rape of a 3-year-old Bandipora girl by the accused identified as Tahir Ahmad Mir.

The police have already arrested the accused and an FIR number 81/2019 under section 363/342/376 stand registered against him at Police Station Sumbal. (GNS)

Sopore , May 13 : Scores of students on Monday hit the streets in Sopore town of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district and staged a protest against the gruesome rape incident with a three year old girl in Malikpora Bandipora.

Reports reaching Kashmir Despatch said scores of students of Govt Degree College Sopore, Boys Higher Secondary and Girls Higher Secondary assembled at Iqbal market of town and demanded exemplary punishment on fast track basis to the accused who allegedly raped the minor in Sumbal Bandipora.

The protestesting students later took out a protest rally from Iqbal market towards main chowk and demanding Justice for three year old girl.

Meanwhile a complete shutdown is being observed in parts of Sopore with all the business establishments are closed while thin movement of traffic is playing on roads.

Pertinently, An FIR number 81/2019, under section 363/342/376 RPC has been registered in Sumbal police station and further investigation has been initiated.
