Narendra Modi is anti-Muslim, anti Kashmiri: Farooq

0

Day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi claimed Abdullahs, and Muftis have “ruined” lives of three generations of the state, National Conference president Farooq Abdullah Monday called Narendra Modi “anti-Kashmiri and anti-Muslim”.

According to KNS correspondent while addressing party convention of Srinagar, Farooq said Narendra Modi was dividing the nation on the name of religion.

“Modi is pointing fingers at us that we want to divide the nation. Had National Conference tried to divide the nation then India would not have existed today. Thousands among those who were killed in Jallian Wala Bagh were Kashmiris but you never remembered them,” Farooq said, while comparing Narendra Modi with Firon.

At an election rally in Kuthua, the Prime Minister on Sunday slammed National Conference and the Peoples Democratic Party.

“Abdullah family and Mufti family destroyed lives of three generations of Jammu and Kashmir. The bright future of Jammu and Kashmir can be ensured only after their departure. They can bring their entire clan into field, can abuse Modi as much as they want but they won’t be able to divide this nation,” Modi has said.

He challenged Prime Minister to address election rally in Kashmir. “You can’t address election rally in Kashmir because you deceived Muslims and did no justice to Kashmiris. If you believe Kashmir is an integral part of India then why don’t you address rally here. You made strict laws, used pellets but could not win hearts of Kashmir.”

He said it was National Conference, which contested polls in 1996 when no one was interested to come into electoral politics.

He also questioned the government of India’s claims that they carried out attack on Jaish-e-Muhammad camps in Balakote.

Addressing the election rally in Srinagar, Omar Abdullah his son, asked people to vote for the candidate who will protect the special status of the state.

“It is a test for us how to defeat the conspiracies being hatched against the state. This is ample clear now what is the agenda of the BJP,” Omar said, reacting to BJP’s manifesto where the party said they are committed to abrogate Article 370 and Article 35 A.

Reacting to Prime Minister that Abdullahs, and Muftis have “ruined” lives of three generations of the state, Omar asked, “When I was minister in Atal Bihari Vajpayee government, the BJP had then no problem even when passed a resolution for autonomy of state. Modi Ji you made a similar statement in 2014 rally but later made government with the PDP. You are always changing your colours?”

Omar claimed that NC leaders told Mehbooba Mufti in the assembly the JK’s special position was under threat. “But she did not listen to us. Even the then law minister had sent a file to chief minister’s office for cancellation of fake permanent resident certificates but she did not act. How can we expect she will protect JK’s special status?”

India’s WC squad: Karthik pips Pant, Shankar in at No.4

0

New Delhi , April 15: Dinesh Karthik has beaten Rishabh Pant in the race to become the second wicket-keeper in the Indian team for the upcoming World Cup in England and Wales. The five wise men of Indian cricket, led by M.S.K. Prasad, met in Mumbai on Monday and picked the 15-member squad. Vijay Shankar goes to the showpiece event as the number four batsman and Ravindra Jadeja has been picked as the third spinner ahead of a fourth pacer. KL Rahul joins in as the back-up opener.

While skipper Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, M.S. Dhoni, Kedar Jadhav, Hardik Pandya, Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah picked themselves on the back of some consistent show in recent times, there were three main areas of concern that the selectors needed to take a call on.

The much-debated number four slot, whether Pant or Karthik go as the second wicket-keeper behind MS Dhoni and finally, if the team will pick a fourth pacer or an additional third spinner considering that the wickets will be on the slower side at this time of the year in England.

The current Indian team management and selectors have often spoken about continuity and that is exactly what they have done with regards to the team for the World Cup. Having tried Shankar at the top, they have backed him in the squad. The fact that Shankar continued to bat at number three or four in this edition of the IPL for the Sunrisers Hyderabad was another hint that the team management had asked him to settled down to the idea of batting at the top.

Karthik has eclipsed Pant to the second wicket-keeper’s spot. Even though Karthik failed to do much in the 12th edition of the cash-rich league, the team management had already said they aren’t looking at it.

In the bowling department too, it was a case of backing an in-form Jadeja because not only has he done well for Chennai Super Kings, but also, wickets are expected to be on the slower side in during the showpiece event. More importantly, Jadeja brings with him solidarity at the lower end of the batting and not to forget his brilliance on the field.

Pandya, having missed the series against Australia, due to issues with his core is back and fits in as the all-rounder who will also be looked at as the finisher.

While both Prasad and captain Kohli had made it amply clear that players’ performance in the IPL would not be considered, sources in the know of developments told IANS that it was indeed difficult to ignore some of the breathtaking knocks played by the likes of Rahul.

India’s 15-member World Cup Squad: Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni, Kedar Jadhav, Vijay Shankar, Hardik Pandya, Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah, Ravindra Jadeja, Dinesh Karthik.

Jaitley while taking to his Twitter handle said that the NDA had supported in good faith a regime of mainstream party in Jammu and Kahsmir ” NDA supported in good faith a regime of the mainstream party in the State. But PDP remained in the clutches of Jamaat-e-Islami agenda. Thereafter, Central govt., for the last few months, has sent a clear message that terrorism will not be accepted in the Valley,” He tweeted.

Hitting out at the Congress party Jaitley said that the party had committed a historical blunder when they whisked away the issue of Pakistan not reconciling to Kashmir being part of India, “The Congress Party is identified with the creation of the problem itself. ‘Pulwama attack was planned, Modi murdered 42 CRPF men for political gains’: Former Mizoram Governor

0

Former Mizoram Governor Aziz Qureshi has reportedly made a controversial remark on the Pulwama attack in which over 40 CRPF personnel were martyred.

“Plan karke aapne ye karwaya taki apko mauka mile, lekin janta samajhti hai. Agar Modi ji chahein ki 42 jawanon ki hatya karke, unki chitaon ki raakh se apna rajtilak kar lein, janta nahi karne degi. (You planned it and got it done, but public knows it. If Modi ji wants that he can ascend to power by murdering 42 jawans and use their ashes for his coronation, then people will nto allow this),” Qureshi, a Congress leader, said.

According to reports, Qureshi asked how the vehicle loaded with explosives was allowed to enter Jammu and Kashmir. He added that if PM Modi thinks that he can win the election by planning the martyrdom of 40 CRPF personnel then he will be given a befitting reply by the voters.

Aziz Qureshi was the 15th Governor of Mizoram. He has also served as the governor of Uttarakhand and governor of Uttar Pradesh.

In March, National Conference president and former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Farooq Abdullah had stirred controversy by raising doubts over the death of 40 CRPF soldiers in Pulwama attack.

In a purported video shared, Abdullah could reportedly be heard as saying, “how many jawans have been killed in Chhattisgarh? Has Modi ever paid tributes to them? However, those 40 who died in Pulwama, I have my doubts”.
