After calling for the destruction of Pakistan earlier post the attack on CRPF jawans in Pulwama on 14 February, actor Kangana Ranaut has made a new comment about the tense situation between Indian and Pakistan.

Speaking at a media conclave on Saturday, Kangana said that she felt like she wanted “to go to the border and snatch somebody’s gone and do the deed”.

Kangana who is known for her candid and controversial comments began by defending her statement for the destruction of Pakistan.

“Well, I think it was just a very instinctive sentiment that we all felt at that time when we were faced with that sort of shocking incident that took place, possibly the most brutal and the most inhuman in centuries and it will always be a deep scar and a deep wound in all of our conscience, so obviously I was deeply moved by the whole brutality of that action,” said Kangana.

The actor went on to say that it’s not necessary to double think your reaction in such times and it’s alright to let your instinct take over.

Kangana then went on to say that she felt she wanted “to go to the border and snatch somebody’s gun and do the deed, so yeah that was my very instinctive reaction.”

One of the three militants killed in an encounter in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulgam district last week had plans to carry out a suicide attack similar to the February 14 Pulwama terror strike, according to a purported video of the ultra in which he spoke about such a plot.

The three militants killed in the encounter in Turigam area of Kulgam district on February 24 belonged to the terror group Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and were identified as Raqib Ahmad, a resident of Shiganpora, and Waleed and Numan of Pakistan.

A purported video of Ahmad, shot before he was killed, went viral on social media on Saturday.

In the clip, he spoke about his plans to carry out a ‘fidayeen’ (suicide) attack on security forces.

“I will be in heaven by the time this video reaches you,” Ahmad said in the over six-minute video in which he glorified terror attacks involving suicide bombers.

The video is similar to the one that surfaced immediately after the Pulwama attack in which JeM suicide bomber Adil Ahmad Dar claimed responsibility for the terror strike.

A police official said they were ascertaining the veracity of the video.(PTI)

SRINAGAR, Mar 2: The UN Security Council has designated Hamza bin Laden, the son of slain Al Qaida chief Osama bin Laden, under its sanctions list, subjecting him to a travel ban, assets freeze and an arms embargo as it described him as being seen as the “most probable successor” of the group’s current leader Aiman al-Zawahiri.

The UN Security Council’s 1267 ISIS and Al Qaida Sanctions Committee listed 29-year old Hamza bin Laden on Thursday, the day the US announced a reward of up to one million dollars for information about him.

Saudi Arabia also announced on Friday it had revoked the citizenship of Hamza bin Laden via a royal decree in November.

A Security Council press release said al-Zawahiri has announced that the Saudi Arabia-born Hamza is an official member of Al Qaida. Hamza has called for followers of Al-Qaida to commit terror attacks. Is seen as the most probable successor of al-Zawahiri, the powerful 15-member Council said.

An assets freeze under the Sanctions Committee requires that all States freeze without delay the funds and other financial assets or economic resources of designated individuals and entities.

The travel ban entails preventing the entry into or transit by all States through their territories by designated individuals.

Under the arms embargo, all States are required to prevent the direct or indirect supply, sale and transfer from their territories or by their nationals outside their territories, or using their flag vessels or aircraft, of arms and related materiel of all types, spare parts, and technical advice, assistance, or training related to military activities, to designated individuals and entities.

Just hours before the UNSC Sanctions Committee designated Hamza, the US State Department’s Rewards for Justice Program announced a reward for up to USD 1 million for information leading to his identification or location in any country, saying he is emerging as a leader in the Al Qaida franchise.

“Since at least August 2015, he has released audio and video messages on the Internet calling on his followers to launch attacks against the United States and its Western allies, and he has threatened attacks against the United States in revenge for the May 2011 killing of his father by U.S. service members, the State Department said.

In January 2017, the State Department had listed Hamza as a Specially Designated Global Terrorist, freezing all of his assets based in the United States or in the possession or control of US persons. The designation also prohibited US persons from engaging in transactions with him. (PTI)

SRINAGAR, Mar 2: Peoples Democratic Party President and former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Saturday warned on banning the Jamaat-e-Islami will have “dangerous ramifications”, reported IANS.

“You cannot imprison an ideology or an idea. There are thousands of Kashmiris in villages and cities associated with the Jamaat. It is s socio-religious organization,” IANS quoted Mehbooba as having said.

“Children studying in Jamaat-run schools have been securing positions in exams. What will happen to these children after you close their schools?” She said that banning the Jamaat could have “dangerous ramifications. By doing this, the BJP is converting Jammu and Kashmir into an open prison.

“We had resisted these moves of the BJP when we were in power with them,” she claimed.

She said as the Chief Minister and the Home Minister of the state during the PDP-BJP coalition, she never got any credible intelligence reports about the links of Jamaat workers with the militants.

“An environment has been created in the country in which beating and harassing Kashmiris is celebrated. It is unfortunate and there seems to be nobody to control this,” IANS quoted Mehbooba as having said.

Mehbooba Mufti said that after IAF pilot Abhinandan Varthaman was returned to India, it appeared talks would start between India and Pakistan but war mongering is still continuing in India, IANS reported.

Geelani was always politically naïve: Prof. Hameeda Nayeem

KD NEWS SERVICE

SRINAGAR, Mar 2:    Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani ‘helped’ the PDP-BJP government in Jammu and Kashmir to implement Goods and Services Tax (GST), reveals Professor Hameeda Nayeem, the wife of senior separatist leader Nayeem Ahmad Khan. She was talking to reporters here on Saturday.

Talking to media person on the sidelines of a seminar,   Prof. Hameeda Nayeem alleged that PDP- BJP coalition in Jammu and Kashmir sought help from separatist leader Syed Ali Geelani so that the GST-otherwise a central law, could be implemented in Jammu and Kashmir.

“Geelani was made to issue a statement in which he openly undermined the importance of Article 370 and declared that its erosion would least matter for the people of the State. Through this way, Geelani helped PDP to implement GST in Kashmir. Geelani is a person who had never a political head,” she said.

Professor Hameeda, whose husband Nayeem Ahmad Khan is a member of Geelani’s faction of Hurriyat Conference has for the first time made such a revelation that has made  the 89-year-old Hurriyat hawk responsible for paving way for the implementation of central law in Jammu and Kashmir.

The story goes back to July 3, 2017 when Syed Ali Geelani surprised one and all and issued a statement, calling to de-link the debate over implementing the Goods and Services Tax from the issue of ‘resistance movement’ in Jammu and Kashmir.

Geelani also asked traders and the civil society members- who were leading a campaign against the GST – to “concentrate on the core issue of Kashmir and avoid any such measures or steps that may alter the discourse or hinder its resolution”, suggesting that the GST should not take a centre stage of the Kashmir movement.

He had asked traders and the civil society to “sort out the problems relating to their business (es)… and find ways and means to explore solution (s) to these complex situations”, indicating he would not play a direct role in opposing the implementation of GST in Jammu and Kashmir.
