Srinagar, Jan 27 : Brutality of the oppressor and their trigger happy armed forces have converted this paradise on the earth into a hell, suffocating every living creature in this piece of land- this was stated by Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman, Syed Ali Geelani in response to the Indian Republic Day speech of the Jammu and Kashmir Governor.
In a statement issued, he said that our healthy and clean environment has been polluted by the filthy and suffocating fumes of bullets, pallets and other ammunitions. Our peaceful and happy habitat has been blown up and converted into rubble by occupation forces.
He said that India very deceitfully and cunningly forced their army in this unfortunate land 7 decades ago and since then we are struggling to free ourselves from this barbaric and brute occupation resulting in lakhs of innocent killings, thousands of un marked graves and hundreds of graveyards.
He said that disproportionate use of force to quell and crush our legitimate struggle seems to have no end. Even today our youth are killed, maimed, blinded and arrested. Our women folk are molested and raped. This unbearable and pathetic scenario is created by none other than our occupier and surprisingly its representative very cleverly tries to befool the people by parroting same old narrative.
He said that only remedy for all the ills is adopt a realistic approach to address the root cause, in accordance with the aspiration of this majority of this population, which only can guarantee peace and harmony in this region, otherwise this deceitful lip service has no takers here.
Meanwhile, Chairman Hurriyat (G), Syed Ali Geelani while paying rich tributes to the martyrs of Khanmoh Srinagar encounter said that every religious or national occasion of India carries a bag worries for us, in the shape of repeated frisking, arrests, nocturnal raids, cyber curbs and cordon and search operations. Our oppressor celebrates its festive with the innocent blood of Kashmiris.
He said that administrative representative of our oppressor pretends to be hurt by the daily blood-shed, but at the same time joins the chorus of celebrations on these unabated spree of killings and takes lead to congratulate his armed “braves” – to have eliminated a good number of Kashmiris.
Pro-freedom leader said that nation, which is forced to shoulder the coffins of their dear ones, witnessing ruthless destruction all around—should always keep itself in introspective mode and see if any action minor or major helps its occupier.
He said that if we fail to introspect and continue to be be-fooled by the deceitful hallow slogans of development and prosperity—we have no moral or legal right to participate in large numbers in the funerals of our brave hearts. These political vultures every time come up with a new and deceitful slogan and we as a nation repeatedly fall prey to their cunning narratives, but at what cost and for how long, pro-freedom leader questioned.

Pregnancy can raise risk of heart disease: Study
Women who have given birth have a higher chance of developing heart disease and strokes than those who are childless, a new study says.
Previous studies have shown that women usually show changes in vascular properties, blood volume and heart rates during pregnancy. However, the impact of pregnancy on subsequent heart disease has been debated.
In the new study, a team from the Huazhong University of Science and Technology in China, reviewed 10 studies. It involved nearly three million women worldwide, with more than 150,000 diagnosed with heart disease or strokes during the following six to 52 years. The findings, published in the European Society of Cardiology journal, showed that giving birth has a 14 per cent higher risk of heart disease and strokes. In addition, there was a significant association between the number of pregnancies and the risk of cardiovascular disease.
Women had a four per cent increase in the incidence of cardiovascular disease each time they gave birth, regardless of weight, diabetes, high blood pressure, smoking and income.
Each delivery increased the risk of coronary heart disease by five per cent and strokes by three per cent, the researchers said.
According to Wang Dongming, lead researcher from the varsity, pregnancy could cause inflammation within the body and accumulation of fat tissue around the abdomen, in the blood and arteries.
These changes may have a permanent impact on the cardiovascular system, leading to an increased risk of heart disease and stroke.
However, he said women could do a lot to prevent cardiovascular disease.
The researchers suggested quitting smoking, doing more exercises, a healthy diet, and controlling weight to improve future health.(IANS)
Amazing to meet Federer, says awestruck Kohli
New Delhi,: He may be one of the best batsmen in the world at the moment, but India captain Virat Kohli admitted that he turned into a fanboy when he met Roger Federer on the sidelines of the Australian Open recently.
“Well, amazing. I have met him a couple of times before as well and the fact that he remembered was like wow!. I mean he told me that he met me in Sydney a few years back when he played an exhibition game and I was like wow! he remembers me. I can’t explain that feeling,” Kohli told bcci.tv. “I have seen him play since I was a child. He is not just a great tennis player but a great man as well,” he added. Kohli, who has scored 20 centuries over the past 18 months in all forms of the game, asserted that he prefers to focus on the team’s success rather than personal milestones. “If you are only focussed on what the team wants and you are obsessed about winning a game cricket for your country, those special performances happen,” Kohli remarked. “I don’t necessarily go out there thinking today I am going to get the three-figure mark. That thought never crosses my mind. The only feeling I have in my heart is that India needs to cross the line and if I am the guy who is in that position to be able to do that for the team I’l keep going on,” he added. “I play the game because of the joy that I have when I play on the field and purely (for) the love of the game. The passion that I have of playing for my country. If I get attached to stats, that means my graph’s going down and there is something wrong in my head. I personally cannot play in that way.” Kohli also asserted that he has changed his entire lifestyle and diet over the past few years in his quest for cricketing success. “I have changed my entire lifestyle over the past four years in terms of my diet, sleep patterns, just planning the whole week out. I do’t believe in taking anything for granted,” the Delhi batsman said. “I want to be able to do what I do to the best of my abilities. I want to do it with quality till the time I play this game,” he added. –IANS
Mamata is on the back foot: Bengal BJP chief
Taking at dig at West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee, the BJP on Saturday said she was gathering “people from all over the country” after realising her inability to take on the saffron party.
“In the coming Lok Sabha polls, BJP is posing a big challenge to all other parties and everybody understands it,” said state BJP president Dilip Ghosh.“Mamata Bnerjee knows she cannot take on the BJP alone. So she is gathering people from across the country. This shows she has gone on the back foot,’ Ghosh said, referring to the January 19 mega Opposition rally organised by the Trinamool chief at the Brigade Parade ground.
Leaders of 23 political parties including former prime minister H.D. Deve Gowda, chief ministers of Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Delhi – H.D. Kumaraswamy, Chandrababu Naidu and Arvind Kejriwal respectively – addressed the rally.
The Trinamool, on the other hand, said the BJP was unnerved as it was becoming clear the coming elections will be fought on the development plank and not on any Hindu-Muslim issue.
“In West Bengal, the polls will be fought on the development plank, not on any Hindu-Muslim issue. In fact, apart from development, there will be no other issue in the poll,” said senior Trinamool leader and state power minister Sovandeb Chattpadhyay.
“This is what has made the BJP afraid,” he added.
The BJP, traditionally weak in West Bengal, has been making a determined bid to throw a serious challenge to the Trinamool as part of its focus on the eastern states to boost its Lok Sabha tally.
