Jammu, June 06: Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared on Friday that ‘Operation Sindoor’ will forever stand as a stark reminder of Pakistan’s humiliating defeat.
Speaking at a rally in Katra after inaugurating the Chenab Bridge and flagging off the Vande Bharat Express between Katra and Srinagar, Modi stated, “Whenever Pakistan hears the name ‘Operation Sindoor,’ it will be reminded of its shameful defeat.”
He condemned Pakistan for targeting innocent tourists in Pahalgam, where 26 civilians were martyred in a terror attack, calling it an assault on ‘insaniyat’ (humanity) and ‘Kashmiriyat’ (Kashmir’s ethos).
“The Pakistani Army and terrorists never imagined India would strike so deep inside their territory. Their terror infrastructure was reduced to rubble within minutes,” Modi asserted.
The Prime Minister issued a stern warning to those attempting to disrupt Jammu and Kashmir’s progress, saying, “Anyone trying to derail development here will have to face Narendra Modi first.”
Referring to Adil, a pony ride operator killed in the Pahalgam attack, Modi emphasized that he was a hardworking man supporting his family, further exposing Pakistan’s cruelty.
“The resilience of Jammu and Kashmir’s people has sent a powerful message to terror groups worldwide,” Modi said, sharing the stage with Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
Modi hailed the completion of the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) as a historic milestone, symbolizing national unity and India’s engineering prowess.
“Today’s event celebrates India’s unity and determination. With Mata Vaishno Devi’s blessings, Kashmir is now seamlessly connected to the nation’s railway network,” he said.
The ₹43,780-crore project, featuring 36 tunnels (119 km) and 943 bridges, ensures all-weather connectivity between Kashmir and the rest of India.
“Walking on the Chenab and Anji bridges, I witnessed India’s soaring aspirations and the brilliance of our engineers,” Modi remarked.
A Strong Message Against Terrorism
Modi accused Pakistan of targeting tourism to incite communal strife and cripple Kashmir’s economy.
“Pakistan is an enemy of humanity, harmony, and the livelihoods of the poor. The Pahalgam attack on April 22 was an assault on ‘insaniyat’ and ‘Kashmiriyat.’ Their aim was to provoke riots and deprive Kashmiris of their earnings,” he said.
This visit marks Modi’s first to the Valley after the Pahalgam attack and India’s decisive military response, ‘Operation Sindoor.’
