Police book 2 drug smugglers under PIT NDPS Act in Sopore

Sopore, June 28 : Two drug smugglers were booked under the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act in north Kashmir’s Sopore.

A statement of the J&K Police issued here said that Police booked the duo after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent authority.

The police spokesman said two Drug Smugglers namely Nasir Ahmad Siraj son of Nazir Ahmad Siraj of Hanfia Colony Arampora Sopore and Mohammad Nadeem Mir son of Mohammad Mubarak Mir of Behrampora Rafiabad under PIT-NDPS.

They have been taken into custody and are now being held in the Central Jail Kot-Balwal, Jammu.

It is important to note that many cases have been registered against these Drug Smugglers and they were still involved in Drug Abuse Trade by supplying Drugs to the local youth of the Police District Sopore and other areas of the District.
