The Jammu & Kashmir Employees Coordination Committee (JKECC) has sought kind intervention of the UT administration towards a pressing issue regarding the office timings for employees of the Government Medical College (GMC) Srinagar and its affiliated hospitals, as well as other GMCs in Kashmir.
In light of the current challenges faced by the healthcare professionals especially women employees, including long working hours and shortened length of day light in autumn season and ensuing winters, JKECC has proposed a review and adjustment of the existing office timings from 9:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m. to 10:00a.m. to 4:30 p.m . A more flexible schedule would not only enhance the work-life balance for our dedicated staff especially the female staff but also improve overall healthcare delivery by allowing for better rest and recuperation time for the employees.
JKECC has implored for kind intervention of Secretary Health and medical education JKUT, Director coordination Dr Mushtaq and administrator Mohammad Ashraf for an early redress of the matter stressing for a revised workday that accommodates both the needs of the healthcare staff and the community they serve. This adjustment would greatly benefit employee morale and efficiency, ultimately leading to improved patient care.
Shah Fayaz said that JKECC is hopeful that the administration is going to implement a change that will positively impact the healthcare system as it is only in the larger interests of the administration and employees of the Health Department.
