Sopore, Dec 27 : In response to the growing concern that fewer books are being read nowadays, the RAAHAT Book Club Sopore organized a book reading session aimed at ensuring that this reading culture does not fade away, especially in light of advancements in technology and the digital era.
The session was presided over by the renowned Kashmiri poet Shahnaz Rashid and centered around the book “Blame Game: Stark Reality of Substance Abuse in Sopore” by Mehvish Rafiqa Firdous.
Aashiq Hussain Zaki, Patron of the RAAHAT Book Club Sopore, emphasized the importance of such initiatives in addressing the decline of reading culture. He noted that advancements in information technology, particularly search engines like Google and AI applications like ChatGPT, have contributed to a decrease in creativity, imagination, and critical thinking.
Zaki reaffirmed RAAHAT’s commitment to organizing similar sessions in the future to foster a vibrant literary culture in Sopore.
Author Mehvish Rafiqa Firdous captivated the audience by reading key excerpts from her book, followed by an engaging discussion.
