Renowned Entrepreneur Neetu Kour Bali Leads Green Initiative in Baramulla

Baramulla, May 27 ; In a commendable effort to combat environmental degradation, noted entrepreneur and social activist Neetu Kour Bali led a tree plantation drive at Gurudwara Chatipatshai in Baramulla on Tuesday.

The initiative, aimed at restoring Kashmir’s fragile ecosystem, saw enthusiastic participation from local residents, community leaders, and environmental enthusiasts.

With rising concerns over deforestation and climate change in the Himalayan region, Bali’s initiative seeks to promote ecological balance and community involvement in conservation efforts. The drive included the planting of native saplings, emphasizing sustainability and long-term environmental benefits.

Hailing from Chack Shutloo, Rafiabad, Neetu Kour Bali is the owner of Sunder Jewels and Gems in Jammu and the daughter of Shri H.S. Bali, former Chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Council. Known for her philanthropic work, Bali has been a vocal advocate for legal rights, women’s empowerment, and the preservation of Kashmiri artisans’ livelihoods.

Speaking at the event, she said, “Environmental conservation is not just an obligation but a collective responsibility. I am humbled to contribute to Baramulla’s green future, a land deeply connected to my family’s roots.” She also praised the Gurudwara committee for their support in mobilizing community participation.

Meanwhile, Gen Secretary Gurudawara Parbandhak committee Baramulla. Satinder Singh who joined the drive, highlighted the importance of grassroots efforts in fighting climate change.

“Such initiatives remind us that every small step counts. Protecting our environment today ensures a healthier tomorrow for the next generation,” he said.

The event not only reinforced the importance of afforestation but also showcased how individuals and communities can come together for a sustainable cause he added.
