Baramulla, Jun 22 : Residents of Tangpora area in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Saturday staged a protest and demanded mini-bus services from Hamray to Naidkhai.
Reports reaching Kashmir Despatch said scores of people of Tangpora area of Baramulla on Saturday morning hit the streets and blocked Hamray-Naidkhai road to highlight the traffic problem in the area. The protesting residents said that lack of connectivity in the interior areas forces them to depend on private modes of transport.
Saika a college student told Kashmir Despatch that we are requesting the authorities to operate atleast three bus from Hamray to Naidkhai during morning from 8 to 10 am. every day sothat It would help to students and people who are working in parts of district to reach on time if service will be restored in the area.
The protestors complain that due to non availability of transport in the area students are worst hit as they are unable to reach to schools, colleges on time.
The protestors said that despite repeated requests to the administration, no action was taken so far.
Meanwhile protest in the area was on when last reports came in.
