Sopore, Dec 20 : The residents of Hardshiva area of Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Thursday staged a demonstration against the power development department in protest over the erratic power supply and also demanded proper HT line in their area.
Reports reaching Kashmir Despatch dozens of residents, including women of Rehmant Colony of Hardshiva took to streets this morning and staged a protest against the alleged apathy of the power department for not providing proper HT line to the residents.
Reports said that despite requests, the authorities are not paying attention to our problems.
Farooq Ahmed a local inhabbitant told this newspaper that several times we residents have brought it into the consideration of concerned department but unfortunately no concrete step was taken.
Meanwhile officials at PDD department when contacted told Kashmir Despatch that due to overload residents are facing hardships, added that people are going on extra usage which affects the scheduled electricity in the area. He however added that department had already changed the HT line but when people are continue going for extra usage which again and again are affceting electricity in the area.
