“RISHWATUK BAPAAR”- Rap song about social menace of corruption released in Sopore

Wani Armaan- popularly known as Rapper Ashu has yet another feather in his cap as the rap song ‘Rishwatuk Bapaar’ saw thousands of views soon after it was released here in Sopore.

According to Kashmir Despatch Correspondent, Shot near Ghanta ghar Sopore, the rap song ‘Rishwatuk Bapaar’ (business of Corruption) has been filmed by Zubair Films Production. It became a viral sight on the internet soon after the release.

The rap song was released in presence of Sufi Singer Shafi Sopori, Showkat Majaz, Faizi Faizan, Shahnaz Rasheed eminent Poet of Kashmir, RJ Sahil Muzaffar and other dignitaries.

“I will continue to highlight the social issues that have become a menace in our society. We all must use our talent, our artistic approach to eradicate the social evils pertaining in our society,” said rapper Ashu.

He thanked all the guests present at the launching ceremony of the song.

Hailing from Sopore town of north Kashmir, Ashu is best known for his rap songs and satirical poetry in which he highlights the social issues prevalent in the society.

His debut song “Ashu Is dying without you” was released in 2010- the much needed entry in the rap song world. His first Kashmiri rap song “Kashmir ki shaadi” that focuses on a very grave social issue of extravagant marriages in Kashmir was another hit.

It is pertinent to mention here that rapper Ashu’s debut coincided with the rise of YouTube as a social media platform.

He claims himself the first rapper from North kashmir to release his videos on YouTube which have satire and a touch of Kashmir culture in them.
