RNAF founder highlights concerns of minorities in Kashmir

Date:

Srinagar, Jan 23 : Founder of the Rouble Nagi Art Foundation (RNAF) and member of the National Commission for Minorities (NCM), Rouble Nagi, on Thursday highlighted her organization’s contributions to Jammu and Kashmir and her recent engagement with minority communities in the region.

Addressing a press conference here, Nagi, said, “RNAF has been active in the region since 2014, focusing on quality education, creative learning, and skill development. The foundation has upgraded school infrastructure, introduced computer labs, and established skill development centers in remote areas, empowering women and girls with employment opportunities.”

During her recent tour across districts including Baramulla, Kupwara, Srinagar, Kulgam, Pulwama, and Anantnag, she said that she met delegations and social activists representing minorities such as Sikhs, Christians, Kashmiri Pandits, and Ahmadiyas. “They were assured that their concerns, ranging from daily challenges to cultural preservation, will be prioritized,” she added.

Nagi said, “Kashmir is the crown jewel of India’s unity in diversity. Ignoring any community weakens the cultural fabric of the region. Regional integration, enhanced connectivity, and collaborative efforts have paved the way for development, particularly benefiting eco- and cultural tourism in Kashmir.”

She also pledged to continue humanitarian efforts and act as a voice for the region’s minorities, ensuring relief and sustainable solutions for their well-being—(KNO)
