Sopore, Mar 29 : Residents of Sangrama area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Wednesday held a protest against the Power Development Department (PDD) over irregular power supply, causing inconvenience to the residents.

Reports reaching the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said that inhabitants blocked the Srinagar-Baramulla national highway, thereby halting traffic movement on the road.

The protestors alleged that they do not get power supply as per schedule and frequent power cuts have become a daily affair.

They said the department has failed to provide power supply as per the schedule and they witness power cuts during peak hours, causing inconvenience to them during the holy month of Ramadhan.

The protesters said they brought the issue to the concerned authorities’ notice several times, but to no avail, thereby forcing them to hit roads—(KNO)
