BARAMULLA, Jun 29 : A Government High School at Bimyar Boniyar in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district is without boundary wall, putting the lives of students at high risk of drowning.
Absence of boundary wall in school also poses a serious threat to students as Lower Jehlum Hydroelectricity Power Project (LJHP) is next to school which always gives tough time to students while passing through.
The High school premises has also beocme a breeding ground for diseases too, as the playground of the school is the main road for residents to visit hospital and other offices which are located at the same place.
This school has been facing a lot of problems due to the missing boundary wall and the students get disturbed by the movement on road which passes through the school, said a group of 8th standard students of this school to Kashmir Despatch.
For reading, these students opined, a peaceful and a comfortable place is needed where students can feel relaxed mentally and physically as well. “Unfortunately no one from administration seems interested to look into our problems,” said Saiqa a 9th class student.
More interesting is the fact that the poor condition of the school does not seem to have bothered the administration. School authorities have been repeatedly reminding the administration regarding the lack of infrastructure but things have been moving at a snail’s pace said headmaster of the school to Kashmir Despatch.
Meanwhile Chief Education Officer Baramulla Mushtaq Ahmed Lone when contacted told Kashmir Despatch that nobody has approached him till date about this issue. He however assured that he will look into the matter on priority.
