Scorching heat continues across J&K; weatherman predicts relief from Aug 28

Srinagar, Aug 25 : Jammu and Kashmir has been under tight grip of the heat wave since past few days with the Meteorological department predicting relief from the hot weather from August 28.

Talking to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Director Meteorological department, Sonum Lotus said that the heat wave would continue across J&K till August 28.

He also predicted relief from the scorching heat from August 28, saying that there is a possibility of light rainfall from August 28-29.

“Kashmir areas would receive light rains during two days, which would also bring the temperature down,” he said.

Meanwhile, MeT spokesman said that the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, Srinagar, recorded a temperature of 32.9 degree Celsius today.

He added that in the ongoing month, the hottest day in Srinagar was recorded yesterday at 33.2 degree Celsius. Kupwara in northern Kashmir was hottest in Kashmir today where mercury settled at 33.3 degree Celsius.

The hottest in J&K was recorded in Ramban where mercury settled at 37.2 degree Celsius.
